What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"As a coffee lover from Copenhagen, I’m particular about my espresso — painfully so — and Ninth Espresso more than met the mark. Nick Brown once wrote that they’ve earned “modern legend status… influencing countless other independent shops in the process,” and after one sip, I understood exactly why. Rich, clean, and beautifully pulled. A standout."
"I’ve been to this coffee shop many times. They have a small roastery operation that produces some really good coffee at a great price point. However, I feel I have to leave a mediocre review because of one particular staff member (a gentleman with glasses and a beard) who is consistently rude and unprofessional. During my last visit, I ordered a latte, and throughout the entire interaction, he was visibly in a bad mood, condescending, and dismissive. I later noticed that several other reviews mentioned similar experiences with the same person. To make matters worse, the latte itself was poorly made — more like a badly prepared cappuccino. If this were my coffee shop, I wouldn’t have someone like that representing the business. It’s a shame because the coffee itself deserves better service."
"I loved this coffee shop. It was hip, the coffee delicious, service was great, and the atmosphere was chic. The pastries were incredible. Check out the pillowy croissant layers. Mind blowingly delicious. There wasn’t anywhere really to sit inside which was a little bit of a bummer since it was raw and cold out, the only reason for four stars, but frankly, with the warm coffee and delicious pastry, I sucked it up and sat outside on the really cool block seating area, listening to the sounds of the city, the breeze, and soaked up the sights. Be sure to stop by Ninth Street Espresso if you’re looking for an eclectic spot with good food."
"I came here for coffee almost every morning since I was staying at the hostel across the street. The almond cappuccino was absolutely delicious, and their pastries are also very good. I highly recommend this café "
"Hipster coffee shop with good quality espresso. Plenty of outdoor seating available, but indoor seating is limited. Open for 8am-3pm. The area looks like it’s up-and-coming and potentially a trendy place to hang out."
"A pretty small coffee shop in Hunters Point. Their croissant was as big as my face. Although there isn't much seating inside, there are plenty of outdoor..."
