It’s amazing to think it’s been over a decade since my brother and I were baristas in Central Washington.

When lines were long, we ran to cars in the drive-thru, took orders on the back of scratch paper, returned with their drink in-hand and a receipt to sign. The smile, nod and a “thank you” made the extra legwork well worth it and kept them coming back. It taught us the importance of building relationships and going the extra mile for customers.

In the years since, superior service and amazing coffee is still a cornerstone of what makes indie coffee so special. The relationships between baristas and customers fosters a sense of belonging that transforms your business into a community staple.
