"I stopped in for the first time since this place was Daily Planet. I ordered an asiago bagel, I was suggested the vegetable cream cheese by the employee, I was not disappointed. I'm not sure why others complain their bagels aren't dense enough. It was huge and plenty dense in my opinion. I also got the pistachio cherry hot latte. It was just the right amount of sweetness without tasting like a surgery mess. And the flavor was perfect. I'm sure I will be back."

"Visited this place when we were in buffalo. The place is very bright and lovely. The staff were very patient when we took longer than usual to confirm the order. And the bagels were amazing. They were soft, fluffy and very very huge. It fills up your stomach. The bagels with egg were more softer than the regular one’s."

"The sandwiches were incredible and the coffee variety was excellent and accommodating (I prefer decaf). The cafe is charming with it's dog-centric decor, spacious, and comfortable; they have plenty of patio seating outside as well. The staff were cheerful and helpful. I love Hertel Ave and The Bean will be a regular stop whenever I visit."

"NOT NEW YORK STYLE AT ALL. let me start off saying the food was not bad. But to claim that they are new york style bagles is a crying shame. They are egwashed round breads. A nys bagle is first boiled in water and baking soda then baked. If you are coming here bc u grew up in nyc and miss the bagels you will be verry disappointed. Also u go to nyc and get a bacon egg and cheese on a bagle at any little corner bagel shop it's like 4.50 5$ max not $8 and 4.50$ for a plain black coffee wild. I am not saying the food is bad but in terms of nys style this is not in the food or the price."

"As a bagel fanatic and a Buffalo local, I was eager to try The Bean on Hertel. I’m really hoping that we caught them on an off day. We ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches, 3 of which ended up in the trash. The “bagels” that we received were simply bread, that lacked the dense doughy nature of a bagel. There was also a disproportionate amount of egg and cheese in comparison to the size of the massive bagel. That small amount of egg was also overcooked on each. All 4 of us collectively were very disappointed in the bagels. To end on a positive note, my strawberry matcha was delicious."
