What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"I’m leaving this review so others are aware—please read till the end as this is a serious matter. From the moment we walked in, the experience was unpleasant. The woman at the front (who I later learned is the owner, based on other reviews) was very rude, so was the other employee. We came in expecting food based on the photos online, When I asked about food, the response was annoyed and dismissive as she signaled to some pastries and 2 ready to go sandwiches that were left. As someone who understands customer service and business ownership, this immediately stood out as unprofessional. We were a large group and there wasn’t enough space inside, and we were also told the shop was closing in about 30 minutes, so we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Because of this, we parked briefly in the shop’s assigned parking spots while the coffee shop was closing (for less than 20 minutes) as we looked for somewhere else to go. When we returned to move the cars we saw the owner placing non-removable stickers directly on our car windows. This was not a police citation or an official parking notice. The adhesive is extremely strong and requires a special product to remove, risking damage to our windows or tint. I understand enforcing parking rules, but placing damaging stickers on people’s private property is unnecessary, unprofessional, and NOT lawful. Business owners do not have law-enforcement authority. If parking needed to be enforced, the appropriate action would have been to contact a tow company or law enforcement—not damage customers’ vehicles. This could have been reported as property damage. I don’t usually leave negative reviews and you can clearly see that on my past reviews but after this incident I read through other people’s reviews and noticed this is a recurring issue. The owner responds to criticism by harassing and berating customers instead of taking accountability, which explains the pattern of bad reviews. PS: I understand we should not have parked there if we weren’t inside the shop. The purpose of this review is not to deny that—but to point out that the owner also acted in a way she shouldn’t have. For the sake of her business I hope she doesn’t do this to someone as spiteful as she is because it won’t go well for her."
"So cute! I had a turmeric ginger hot latte and chocolate croissant while I waited for my train on a cold day. Plenty of seats. Great service very friendly staff even delivered my drink to me when ready. $11."
"(NOTE: This review originally and apparently fallacious assume the hours were shorter than they actually were. I've changed the score as a result.) BXVL is a mixed bag How’s the coffee? Quality-wise, it’s fine. A regular cup is totally drinkable: no single-origin options and nothing to get excited about, but the flavor is decent enough - like a slightly watered-down Oaxacan profile, chocolatey with a firm body. The issue is consistency. They mess up mixed drinks a lot. My mom’s Americano tasted like hot water whispered to by coffee, and the flat white I ordered arrived without the milk - so it was literally just flat. Pricing is on the expensive side, not highway robbery like Ovder, but absolutely “Bronxville markup” territory. You’re paying for the branding and the Roman numerals more than the craftsmanship. Staff is friendly, but drink mistakes are common. Bottom line: If you’re in a rush, they happen to be open, and you just need a basic drip coffee, it’s fine. But if you want anything more than the simplest drink - or a coffee shop that’s reliably open when humans actually drink coffee - you’re better off walking the extra minute to Coffee Unique."
"Best Matcha latte I’ve had in Bronxville, and it’s in my top 3 period. Perfect. The service was great, everyone was very kind and helpful. Chill vibe in there, at the train station. Super convenient if you’re taking the train but we just stopped in after a walk to grab some drinks. The baked goods looked tasty but we didn’t get any. Will definitely be back."
"I’ve consistently loved my experiences here, which is why I’m giving this business 5 stars. The quality, atmosphere, and passion behind this small business are always evident, and I love supporting them. The owners also run the speakeasy on weekends, which adds a fun, creative touch to the overall vibe. However, I feel it’s important to share a concerning moment from my recent visit. While my drink—a hot strawberry matcha—was delicious (and it’s worth noting that it’s advertised both hot and iced), there was some initial confusion with how to make it. The staff were kind and ultimately let me decide how I wanted it, and I appreciated that. What disturbed me, though, was witnessing a negative interaction between one of the young employees—a young Black woman with braids—and the female owner. The owner loudly asked, “What are you doing?” in a sharp tone, right in front of me. The young woman calmly replied, “I’m making it hot—she asked for it hot, and she’s standing right there.” Despite that, the owner continued to raise her voice, she snapped at the young woman more than once while she was making the drinks. At first glance, it seemed that a loud machine was interfering with the owner’s ability to hear or concentrate, and she snapped at the employee again in a more raised, angry tone. The young woman visibly jumped, and another customer and I exchanged a glance—it was that noticeable and uncomfortable. In a busy, hot environment (it was over 80°F inside with just a few fans running and the machines going), I would have expected more grace and professionalism from management. Employees doing their best during a rush deserve support, not public reprimanding. A more appropriate approach might have been to address the issue privately after the morning rush, rather than in front of customers. This hasn’t changed my overall appreciation for the business, but I hope to see a more respectful and supportive environment for the staff moving forward."
"Unfortunately, the third time was not the charm. I came back today to give them one more shot. I really was hoping this place would be my go-to matcha spot,..."
