"This is one of our absolute favorite spots on Rockaway Beach! We always try to stop by whenever we come to Rockaway. Their decaf coffee with oat milk is easily one of the best we’ve had anywhere in New York — truly amazing. Hopefully, they never change the recipe because we keep coming back just for that. We also like grabbing a bite to eat here — everything is always fresh and made with care. The only downside is that they close a bit early; we often walk the boardwalk in the evening and wish we could stop by afterward. Other than that, this place is our top #1 spot on Rockaway Beach — highly recommended!"

"As the nearest coffee shop to our apartment, our first experience made it easy to happily make a repeat visit in the rain. The laid-back(?)atmosphere gives that relaxed welcome vibe. Their service and range of snacks, including vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy -free options are really good, and their coffee fantastic!"

"Dang—y’all really gonna serve so much single-use-plastic, when you’re just a block away from the beach?? I am glad you have for-here options (which I happily asked for) but it seems none of your other patrons know to ask for them. I’m appalled by the amount of trash being created! We all know by now that over 90% of plastics (which are made from fossil fuels) do NOT get recycled. So how can you help your customers do better? I see you have a sign about no plastic straws, which is great, but doesn’t mean much when you’re selling this much coffee wrapped in plastic. Maybe you can ask customers if they’re having their drink to stay? And encourage a real mug? It’s such a shame to be a beachside cafe that’s contributing to hurting the ocean. Thanks for considering greener options. And if you’re a customer reading this: you can ask for a reusable mug to stay!"

"The coffee was delicious, right balance between robust coffee flavor and creamy milk. I also appreciated their variety of milk options, which is great for those with specific preferences. I decided to try the avocado toast, which came topped with cotija cheese. While it was tasty, I felt it could have benefited from a bit more cheese for added flavor. The shop itself has a warm and cozy vibe, complemented by a fun surf theme that makes it a unique place to relax. There’s plenty of seating available. Overall, I had a good experience at Local’s Coffee Shop."
