"Went in for $5 pazookie Tuesday with my brother-in-law and ended up staying for dinner. Great service provided by our server Ruby. Unlimited soup and salad for me; personal pan pizza with salad for my b-i-l. He ended getting another mini pizza for happy hour. Food was great as always, service was excellent, and the restaurant is always clean. Highly recommended...Thumbs up!!! Update. Even though we were told by the server that it was OK to bring our dog to the patio regardless of whether it was a service dog or not, we were turned away when we stopped by tonight. Driving from Fernley to Sparks now seems like such a waste. My fault for putting too much belief in an employee's answer. No dogs allowed on the patio...except in other BJs I've been to."

"The steaks on the wedge salad was VERY VERY dry and overcooked. The deep dish pizza was filled with crispy pepperonis and sausage. The dough was light. The clam chowder soup was cream and rich, paired perfectly with the sourdough bread. The salmon was seasoned perfectly and paired well with cozcous and veggies. Good service"

"Amazing!! Been here a few times but first time to order pizookie meals. I had the Mediterranean chicken with quinoa salad & my husband had the southern fried chicken. I must say it's the most satisfying meals for us in a long time, and at a great price too of $13 each. And to finish it, a dessert of cookie topped with ice cream. Too sweet though, hope they have sugar-free option next time. Everything delicious and good portions. Definitely we'll be back to try the others!! Wait time for seating & service not long, great service by Andres. Pretty cool paying through phone now."

"I came here at 7pm on a Friday for my mom’s birthday dinner. It was busy with about a 30-minute wait, which was fine. We ordered a veggie pizza, calamari, prime rib, and fish and chips. When the prime rib arrived, it clearly wasn’t prime rib, it was a ribeye cooked well done (picture 1 and 5), even though I had ordered prime rib medium. I pointed this out to the server (Layne), who told me “that is prime rib, not sure what to say but I’ll send my manager.” About 10 minutes later, the manager came by. I explained the situation, and he said, “it looks like a prime rib to me, just a little overcooked, but I’ll be happy to get you a different piece.” Neither the server nor the manager offered an apology for the mix-up. As someone who knows the difference, the first plate was obviously a ribeye: firmer, harder texture, no outer “prime rib” cap, and cooked through. Prime rib is softer and has that distinct roast look and feel. The replacement plate was more like actual prime rib (picture 2), but by then the experience was already disappointing. On top of that, the fish and chips were overly salty, and so were the vegetables served with the prime rib. Service also felt rushed and careless. For example, when we asked for a box for the pizza, instead of helping or offering to pack it (as good servers usually do), Layne just tossed the box onto the table and walked away. That kind of attitude really stood out as rude and unprofessional. To make matters worse, this was for my mom’s birthday. No one acknowledged it, no candle, no “happy birthday,” nothing when we asked to take a picture because it’s my mom birthday. The only thing that made her smile was that I gave her the free dessert that came with my prime rib. In the past, BJ’s would give a complimentary dessert with “Happy Birthday” written on the plate and a candle, which made the night feel special. Sadly, that tradition seems to be gone. Another issue, the new digital payment system is terrible. Being forced to scan a QR code to pay by phone is inconvenient and feels impersonal. What if an older guest doesn’t know how to scan a code or doesn’t want to pay on their phone? Whatever happened to the traditional method with an actual check and the option to pay at the cashier? Overall, the food was inconsistent, the service was rude and unprofessional, and the experience lacked the warmth and hospitality that used to make BJ’s stand out. The most surprising part was that both the server and manager didn’t seem to know (or admit) the difference between a ribeye and prime rib which is concerning for a restaurant serving both. Times have definitely changed here, and unfortunately, not for the better."

"My husband and I recently went to BJ’s BBQ in Sparks, NV, and we were SERIOUSLY impressed. We both got the BBQ combo plate, which comes with your choice of amazing BBQ meat, two sides, and a slice of cornbread… everything on that plate was absolutely delicious. The beef brisket? It melts in your mouth. It was so tender it literally fell apart as I tried to pick it up with my fork. The mac and cheese was creamy, fresh, and full of flavor, you can tell it’s homemade. I got the fries, which came in a great portion, and my husband had the coleslaw, which was truly one of the best coleslaws I’ve ever had, super fresh, crunchy, and just perfectly made. Definitely in my top five of all time. The cornbread was warm, a little sweet, and just tied the whole meal together. Our server Christy, with the short red hair, was amazing too. You could tell she was hustling but still managed to be super kind and attentive. I don’t know what she gets paid, but she deserves a raise, no question. Our food came out quick, hot, and everything was mouthwatering.😍. If you’re thinking about trying BJ’s, the only warning I’ll give you is that you’ll probably want to keep going back… a lot. it’s that good. I honestly wish we’d found them sooner. This is a 100% real, honest review from someone who loves good BBQ, and in my opinion, BJ’s is hands down one of the best restaurants in the Reno/Sparks area. I could keep going, but really, just try it for yourself- you’ll get what I mean."
