What People Are Saying
from Google"Oh my, what a massive amount of fries my coworker ordered. With an egg on top. I had the Tuesday Tri Tip special and it was pretty good. The home cooking at this place is where its at. The mac n cheese has that Kraft taste. Dirty rice was very good mixed with the mac n cheese. Very friendly service and definitely has that local hometown feel to it. Big cups of water!!!"
"My husband and I are new to the area and we’re told by multiple people to try this out. We came on a Wednesday about 4p & got the special which was the three rib plate with two sides! The ribs had very good taste and also very tender. The sides we got were the cheddar grits & the barbecue beans & both were very good. This was a very good spot!"
"A popular eatery offering award winning ribs with meat that easily tugs away from the bone, and excellent side dishes. Consistently delivers great product at good prices. Corn bread is slightly sweet with the right amount of moisture, while dirty rice included flavorful sausage and seasonings. Cole slaw compliments all of those. The atmosphere is more like a diner, which is a fair trade for really good ribs and it isn't noisy. Don't be put-off if there's a 10-15min wait to get in, as they do a good job handling a lot of rib fans, and people are typically seated in less time than they estimate. The staff knows their menu well, and is glad to help narrow down menu choices that match your tastes."
"Smelled great as I pulled up so I cant tell you how disappointed I am in this place. Mac was alright but they have a funky cheese sauce. Seemed like they tried to do something fancy with it but missed the mark. The hotlink looked and tasted like a Zenner link they got from the grocery. Edible but I expected more than that. The ribs were Chewy with not a lot of flavor. Then there was the brisket which has no seasoning to it and was totally dry. Now I know why they ask "what sauce do you want on your meat"? I want none on the meat I want it beside so I can dip as I want not smothered to cover up the lack of quality. Sad that the best thing on the plate was the frys. They were fresh and really tasty. They need to work on everything else Update: After the response from BJs I needed to add here that I talk to my server when she asked how my meal was I told her it wasn't good at all. She turned and said ok and walked away. So again I say. This is very possibly one of the worst bbq meals I have had. Ever. I cant belive that the place was so busy. I guess reno has no idea what bbq is supposed to taste like. Also notice the second picture. That shows you how much I left on my plate."
"I had the pulled pork, fries, and soup (out of mac and cheese). I would say it's not bad but I do prefer a darker sweeter bbq sauce and that wasn't really the kind they have here. Pulled pork felt more like chopped pork. Portions were very large for the price I paid though. About $20 for the whole plate plus almost $4 for a soda. Not bad! Only in town for work, probably wouldn't eat here again personally."
