What People Are Saying
from Google"I'd like to give a shout out I wish I could see name tags and remember names better but I'm visually impaired I cannot see like the world can see and I asked for directions and they gave them to me without yelling! I do not know what the rest of world realizes how loud humans yell at each other especially when asking for directions so I pray that whoever helped me is blessed God knows who they are I pray to come in after I have my next two surgeries to be able to recognize the voice and put a face to the voice of an angel! Thank you again for being here Thank you for your empathy Thank you for your heart Thank you for your humanity ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥 XoXoX"
"When I first met Mike, he was very welcoming and introduced me to a whole variety of espresso drinks not available at your neighborhood Starbucks. I tried the Affogato which was simply Vanilla ice cream topped with espresso. The drink prices can't be beat $2 drop coffee and $3 for a double espresso. I ordered pizza from Mike and he even gave me an extra slice. Being a chef coming from Chicago, I could tell this man loves his regulars and loves the place that he works at. And that's the key to a successful business: Love. He loves his boss Paul. Loves his co-workers Mia and Evian. And treats every guest with kindness. For the past couple of weeks I took became a returning guest. His love for this coffee bar extends hours after his morning shift. Some might mistake him as the owner because he hangs out at the Sober Bar day and night But then I heard rumors that he can be irritable at times. I can understand that coming from the restaurant industry having to do weekly inventory, deep cleaning and running multiple errands throughout the day. Aggravation and stress does pay a toll. I can't read minds and I do feel guilt on my end for not following the rules. In Chicago, I would trade food and drinks with other restaurants and no money was exchanged. I guess you can't take the chef out the kitchen and I had become good friends with some of the staff and shared food from my homeland Taiwan. The 4th St Coffee Bar is located near a homeless shelter and one night we ran into a down on his luck man with the cutest Corso I've ever seen. This man couldn't get into the homeless shelter so I ordered Uber Eats to be delivered at the public curb near the bar And it was that night Mike's anger shined. He told me not to "make camp" in front of the store and I told him Uber Eats would be here before closing time. I abused by his rules and moved my new friend and his dog down the street. I saw 4th St Coffee Bar as my kind of Starbucks where you order a drink, charge your phone, play pool, watch movies, listen to music and socialize. However 4th St Coffee Bar does NOT want you to stay. Or maybe it's just me that Mike does not like. This morning I got my cup of coffee from Mike and he delightfully offered me leftover foamed milk. I went out for a phone call and did my morning exercise routine which is a combination of Dance, Tai-Chi, and Yoga.I did this OFF THE PREMISES of 4th Street Coffee Bar. I screwed up once with the Uber Eats. I wish not to step on anyone's toes because I have respect for all. Mike comes out for his mandatory smoke breaks and kicks me out. For the past two weeks I spent more money there than any other patron new or old. For the past two weeks I've tipped, fed, and offered drinks to this amazing staff. For the past two weeks I've seen this place house A.A. meetings and offer FREE COFFEE to those battling with Alcohol Addiction. So much goodness coming from a place surrounded by poverty, violence, and mental illness only to be left on this curb writing a review. I wish I could give this place 5 stars and more but I feel a radiant negative energy / hostility coming from Mike. Maybe it's a good thing this happened bc I cannot start my mornings waking up with anger For the first time in my life I left one quarter as tip because I truly believe he sees me as a piece of trash. If they're are rules for the bar, Mike should have them all printed out. I'm sorry, Mike. Won't happen again because I am never coming back. Management needs Anger Management meetings."
"Went on a brewery hopping trip with some buddies and wanted to try one of the lesser known breweries. They had a huge selection of beer, all fantastic, all house brewed. Every time I’m back in Reno this will be a stop. I highly recommend the Belgium strong ale"
"Amazing place to go with your friends if you’re looking for a good time without alcohol or drugs. Pool is fun, jukebox is nice, and the staff are super friendly."
"First time coming here and it's good vibes for sure. Awesome that something like this exists. The bartender was very nice. Thanks Alyssa and paul"
