from Google"One of my favorite eateries in Taos. The vibe is cozy, warm, and friendly. While the place gets full, the fire in the courtyard is such a pleasant treat that I don’t mind waiting. The menu is great with a large selection of options even for vegetarians. The enchiladas were especially good, as were the beans. They also have a nice dessert selection with creative varieties of biscochitos. The staff is friendly, even while managing rush hour, a special skill. They also have beautiful talavera tilework and a fun color scheme decorating the place."
"There is a lovely dog-friendly courtyard with a fire to keep warm by while you wait for your table, and they can serve you drinks while you wait as well! Despite being busy, service was prompt and friendly, and the food was AMAZING, especially the chile rellenos!! And the absolute best queso I’ve ever had, hands-down. The colorful walls and New Mexican decorations just added to the already-great vibe. Cannot recommend strongly enough."
"This was the best lunch we had during our week-long trip to the area. My girlfriend said that the tamales were the best she had ever eaten. From the bite I got that she parted with, I have to agree! I got a super tasty Fritz pie. Like grandma used to make! LOL"
"Orlando's is a not so big or roomy place to dine but honestly, when the food is served quickly and it's good... Who cares! If you don't mind the closeness and the wait time then make your way to Orlando's. It's worth the trip and the wait. After a 50 minute wait we were finally seated. Started off with a couple of Sangria's. That was good. Afterwards the wife ordered the queso and chips. Queso was good. Our server was efficient and quick as well as pleasant and attentive. Wifey went with the Combo Plate and I chose The Smothered Shrimp Burrito. Wifey was forking her dish like as if she was digging for gold and I was busy trying not to share my meal with anyone. Our meals were on point. The posoles (they don't serve rice here) were nice and soft with good flavor. Plenty of shrimp huddled together in my burrito. Wifey just kept digging in. Then, it was dessert time. I'm a flan guy. The lady at the table next to me was enjoying a flan dish, so I asked... "How's the flan?" Her response, "oh it's good!" So you know the rest. Wifey ordered a brownie cake and I Da Flan. Capped the dinner off with dynamite sweetness and out we went into the night with big smiles and inflated waistlines. They're opened for dinner from 5 to 9 so get there no later than 4:30 if you want a seat with the first rounders or you'll have a 45 minute minimum wait time. A 5🌟 Experience!"
"We arrived before opening time, 10:30 on a rainy Saturday. 3rd to be seated yet the restaurant filled up quick. Efficient and attentive staff with water refills and finished plates cleared. We enjoyed the Grilled shrimp & relleno combo with green chile-deeelicious! and the blue corn beef tacos. The relleno is fried to a crisp, filled with ooey gooey cheese and remains crisp, not soggy. The posole is flavourful alongside the beans. The restaurant isn’t as tiny as reviewers say. One WC in the back next to the itty bitty kitchen pushing out incredible plates! Cash forward or a 2.5% credit card fee. Worth the wait & Enjoy!"
