"We loved it! Great authentic New Mexican food. We got the Trio off the appetizer options. The Carne Adovada Al Horno, and the Combination Plate and shared family style. The portions are large and easily shareable. Loved this spot in Old Town"

"We stumbled on to this amazing restaurant when we googled a unique local cafe in old town Albuquerque. It was like an Alice in Wonderland experience. Your “trip” begins as you go into a rather small entrance, greeted warmly by “you are going to love yourself for coming here”…we follow our guide through a maze of rooms and hallways, each beckoning us to explore this historical ranch house turned restaurant. When we turn the last corner we enter a beautiful large room decorated in true Santa Fe style. And the “icing on the cake”? The authentic cuisine is amazing. We had vegetarian home made tamales with Christmas sauce. Our favorite was the green. Also flatbread instead of a traditional tostada. Yummy!!! Last but not least. Sopapillas dripping with honey. This will be our go to place to eat when traveling through Albuquerque!!! If it is warm, the patio dining with waterfall is a great option!!!"

"Don’t let the entrance fool you - the place is really huge inside! There was a 20min wait on a Friday afternoon. It’s in the middle of Old Town plaza so it’s a bit of a tourist trap. The court yard inside and the decor is really beautiful. However, the laughs and giggles stopped there when it came to the food. We got the traditional chile rellano and southwestern barbecue chicken salad. The food was stale, the salad on the rellano entree tasted off and the whole entree felt like it was heated in a microwave. The chile rellano was almost cold and seemed to have been prepared a while ago and just reheated. The bbq salad was okay but the chicken pieces in it were overcooked and chewy. I wanted to try new mexican cuisine but the food was damn terrible. The server also forgot to give spinach in the entree and we had to chase him for that to be changed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is probably among the worst bites of food I’ve had. I had to leave almost all of entree as it was so bad. Response to the reply: The salad we ordered was **Southwestern grilled fajita salad. Thank you for mentioning it."

"Beautiful restaurant with both indoors and outdoors seating. I ordered the Reuben with potato salad and I wish the marble rye was more toasted and that the thousand island sauce wasn’t served on the side but rather spread on the bread already. The host (man w/ glasses) and server were super friendly and I had a great time overall. I would come back to try their breakfast menu in the future!"

"If you happen to be at the Old Town Plaza and you're hungry, then the Church Street Cafe could be the place you have a meal. We were in the area and decided to stop in for dinner (Thursday night, with no reservations). The cafe is in a very old house, possibly, one of the oldest standing homes in New Mexico. The cafe looks tiny from the outside but once inside you'll be amazed at how big it is. There are several dining areas with the cafe and we were seated near the back in a room with a very high ceiling and an impressive fireplace. We ordered the bean chili with green chiles and chicken fajita plate. The meal also came with sopapillas and honey. Overall the meal was average. The chicken fajitas looked a bit pale and was tasteless. Luckily we had red and green chiles for flavor. The corn tortillas were subpar and falling apart so we couldn't really hold the chicken fajita in our hands to eat, instead used fork and knife. The bean chili was tasty, and along with the sopapillas, the best part of the meal. If you're hungry and need a place to eat while shopping at the plaza, you may consider dining at the Church Street Cafe...or not."
