What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"First time trying this coffee shop and we loved it. This shop being in Historic Barelas Neighborhood gives it such a vibe. The outside seating is amazing as well. But the service and coffee is amazing. We will definitely will come back."

"I walked into Café Es Amor expecting coffee and walked out questioning why most of Albuquerque has been lying to itself. This place sits in Barelas like it has always been there, like the neighborhood quietly willed it into existence. No corporate coffee altar. No tortured menu boards. Just the smell of cinnamon, piloncillo, and something ancient and correct brewing behind the counter. Then came the café de olla. Not the polite, Instagram-safe version. This is the real thing. Dark, spiced, unapologetic. It tastes like Mexico because it is Mexico. One sip and my brain snapped back to mornings south of the border, ceramic mugs, steam in the air, life moving at human speed. This coffee doesn’t ask how your day is going. It tells you to sit down and shut up for a minute. And then they brought the chilaquiles. A reckless act of generosity. Crispy, saucy, balanced like someone’s abuela is running quality control in the back. Every bite hits like a reminder that breakfast can still be dangerous if done correctly. This is not hangover food. This is resurrection food. Café Es Amor isn’t trying to be discovered. It doesn’t care about trends. It’s not begging for hype. It’s just there, doing things the right way, in Barelas, with love and zero apologies. Albuquerque needs places like this. Honest places. Places that remember where flavor comes from and why it matters. Go early. Go hungry. Order the café de olla first. After that, you’re on your own."
