What People Are Saying
from Google"While looking for alternatives for breakfast, we decided to try Uptown Cafe in Indy. They have two other locations in Carmel and Nobelsville. The cafe was quaint and clean, with a cozy feel. We chose a table, although there are also seats at the counter. The service was great (thanks, Rachel!) and the bottomless coffee was very good. They tout there own baked goods, preserves, and even there own labeled hot sauce and ketchup (good flavor, but too sweet for us). We ordered a variety including biscuit and gravy, eggs Benedict (delicious Hollandaise!), and a breakfast burrito. All the good was at least fair, most was good to great. The portions were a bit smaller than elsewhere, but closer to the right amount rather than overly ample. The prices reflected that, being reasonable for the high quality. We spent under $20, including a generous tip. It was evident that many of the other patrons were regulars, as the chatter was friendly and familiar. We might just become regulars, too!"
"This place is a real staple of the community. A clean locally owned diner with friendly staff, great food and very reasonable prices. The type of place where they remember your order and are happy to see you. Coffee is fantastic. You have to try the home made sourdough and strawberry jam! Oh and they even make their own ketchup cause they care so much. Get your butt to Uptown and you won’t regret it!"
"Food is fine, but nothing special. Their own brand of ketchup/hot sauce was interesting to try. Worth dropping by for breakfast if nearby. Omelet was tasty, though texture was a bit spongy for my taste. Would have liked to have more ham with my side order."
"We have been to this location many times but after our last visit we are questioning whether we want to go back. The waitress came to our table in a reasonable amount of time but then spent at least 5 minutes talking to a customer before she was made aware that we were sitting there waiting for her to take our order( there were very few customers in the place) We ordered hamburgers but was told they were out of ground beef( what!?) We ordered something different which included a pickle. The pickle looked a little brown and the center part was missing. We were told they were like that because they were made in house. No better ones were available. It was not a good experience."
"A very small and quaint diner, that’s located in a small strip mall and has a neighborhood feel. Table, booth and counter dining is available. Open for breakfast and lunch 6am to 2pm, 7 days a week. The service and food was very good. Hot and delicious black coffee with a deep flavor and inviting aroma. Stoped by here the second time today for breakfast. I had the Cowboy Benedict last time, and a Western Omelette today thoroughly enjoyed the omelette it had American cheese, ham, onion and green peppers with your choice of two sides for 13.48 I chose hash browns and toast to pair with my Omelette. The cowboy Benedict I chose before comes on a split English muffin with two sausage patties, two poached eggs, and smothered in delicious sausage gravy.👍👍 It comes with your choice of one side for 12.99. I really liked both meals for breakfast. Neither time was it crowded, but it did have a steady stream of customers. Food here is pretty good and you will not have to wait. Will return again for something else."
