"Upgraded old brick ice house turned into coffee shop. They have burritos. Many of the usual kinds of coffee. Very relaxing atmosphere. Grounded feeling. Next to Coal House factory building and horse Stables that where upgraded into business offices behind the coffee shop. Today by coincidence was a small event called First Friday LOCAL Arts and Homemade Crafts and Plants show."

"This coffee shop is one of the best, in my most humble opinion. It's located right near train tracks and has a vibe that can't be beat. Quiet area with an eclectic, eccentric presence. One of those places that remind me of the 90's when things were cool and upcycled and hip. A staple that stands the test of time. And this is all just based on the external appearance. Same thing applies inside. Even with the baristas. "It's a vibe." Now onto the coffee. I have no complaints. I tried something new (a rose americano) and while it was was different, I wanted to risk it. The best part? If I didn't like my little risky adventure, they were happy to remake it, no questions asked. Thankfully, it was great! Come in this location to stay a while. Expect to stay a while. Get comfortable. Bring a book. Enjoy the vibe. You'll likely be back to get a regular dose of that vibe, I'm sure of it. (Full disclosure I'm not a fan of saying "vibe" so often, it just felt right here )"

"My husband and I have become regulars here! The staff is amazing and the coffee is easily our favorite! Made perfect everytime! We both get the salted caramel latte (sf for me) it is delicious!! I always recommend coal yard! It is also the perfect hangout spot, to get work done or for us Bible study!!"

"The atmosphere is the highlight here. Service was amazing. There was a slight catastrophe with the toilet flooding and Tammy did a fantastic job keeping her cool and doing the best job she could. The coffee was ok, I just got a vanilla latte. It was a little uninspired but I'm satisfied for just $4."

"Literally the best coffee shop on our whole 2 week road trip through the Midwest. Lovely staff and really good food on top of excellent coffee drinks! Also delightfully dog-friendly. They even named a drink after our sweet pup, called The Magnificent Charlie."
