What People Are Saying
from Google"Relish Cafe & Confections is a standout spot in downtown and an easy place to recommend if you’re looking for a polished café experience. We stopped in for a parfait and coffee, and both were excellent. The parfait was fresh, well balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients, while the coffee was smooth and well prepared — exactly what you want from a place that takes its offerings seriously. Nothing felt rushed or mass-produced, and the quality really showed. The atmosphere leans upscale for a café, with a clean, stylish interior that feels intentional rather than overly cozy or cluttered. It’s a great place to sit for a bit and enjoy what you ordered without feeling cramped or chaotic. Service was somewhat distracted, but still efficient and effective. Even though the staff seemed busy, everything was handled correctly and professionally, and we never felt ignored or forgotten. Pricing felt fair for the quality of the food, drinks, and setting. This isn’t a bargain-basement café, but it delivers enough value that the cost makes sense. Street parking is available nearby, which is typical for a downtown location and wasn’t a problem during our visit. Overall, Relish Cafe & Confections delivers a high-quality experience with good food, solid coffee, and an elevated café vibe. I would absolutely go back and would recommend it to locals, travelers, or anyone spending time downtown who wants a reliable, well-executed place to stop for something sweet and a good cup of coffee."
"We had brunch here two days in a row and had two very different experiences. On Saturday, the brunch service, food, and staff were all excellent. Sunday, however, was a different story. While the food was still very good, the service was below average. I placed my order and waited about 20 minutes without receiving it. During that time, our server stopped by to offer a coffee refill and said my food was on the way. It seemed likely that the order hadn’t been put in initially and was only noticed during that visit. After another 10 minutes, I asked about my food and mentioned that it had been roughly 20 minutes. For context, the restaurant was not busy—only a handful of tables were occupied. Another staff member brought my food and responded rudely, insisting it hadn’t been 20 minutes and stating she had checked the ticket and it showed only 13 minutes. We weren’t upset or confrontational; we simply wanted to eat and settle our check. The defensive response felt unnecessary. While it may have been 13 minutes since the ticket was entered, that didn’t account for the initial delay. There was no need to argue with us. Overall, the inconsistent service left a poor impression, and we likely wouldn’t return if we’re back in Elkhart."
"Cutest Christmas atmosphere ! The food is delicious, and the staff makes you feel right at home. A perfect place to relax!"
"Came here on a whim after there was a long wait at tipsy biscuit. They didn't have their full breakfast menu that was listed on their website, but we found something to order regardless. Food was fantastic. Their quiche crust was perfect. We really enjoyed their blueberry lemon waffles as well. Prices were really fair. I would definitely come here again."
"Went to Relish trying to support a local business. Absolutely horrible. We stood for well over 5 minutes at the host stand next to the Please wait to be seated sign. There was a woman working behind the counter that chose to continue to ignore us along with 2 hotel or restaurant employees and a cook for the restaurant. Finally the server came and asked us if we were waiting to be seated and then moved the sign stating it was seat yourself. The place was a ghost town and now I know why. One other table (2 guests of the hotel). The food came scary fast once we did order. We actually got our food and were done eating in 19 minutes. Partially because i ordered a breakfast sandwich that was so greasy and had an old taste so I ate the overcooked potatoes and let the waitress know I couldn't eat the sandwich. ( She did take it off and offer to get me something else) My husband ordered the same overcooked potatoes, scrambled eggs, overcooked bacon and overcooked toast. Online is showed all these delightful looking sweets and it's PART OF THEIR NAME!! And it was comical. The shelves and cases were empty. I assume they are going to close soon based on this experience and the appearance of the place. Huge disappointment. Don't waste your time."
