What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"I used to love this place and would come here about once a week. This was my favorite coffee shop! I used to recommend it to everyone and now I’m honestly embarrassed that I ever did. Since the new ownership, things just haven’t been the same. I’ve tried going back several times, hoping it would get better, thinking maybe they just needed time to iron a few things out. But now I’m not sure why anyone would want to go here, especially to purchase food other than maybe a baked good. I got the breakfast burrito, something I always used to enjoy before the new ownership. What a disappointment. If you’re going to advertise a breakfast burrito with green chile and a panini press, then deliver that. Instead, it looked and tasted like something I could’ve bought at a gas station for half the price. I literally had to force myself to take a few bites because it was mostly inedible, but it was supposed to be my lunch. I’m mad that I even tipped 15%. I feel like I’ve been robbed by this place. The staff were also unwelcoming and looked like they had just rolled out of bed. I’m confused as to what happened to this café. It used to be a quiet, friendly little coffee shop with charm, but now it’s a completely different experience. 10 out of 10 do not recommend."
"I've been here a few times and it's always been alright. I usually just grab a bagel. I was the only person being helped today, there were a few people sitting with their drinks but as far as I know, I was the only order being worked on. I didn't see what my bagel looked like until I opened it up 5 min later in my car and was shocked. I couldn't believe the guy made that, saw it and thought it was fine to continue with. the top half wasn't as burnt but he also decided to not butter that half. slightly frustrating. also, I should note, I did leave a tip."
"I used to love this place. My family and I went there regularly through multiple ownership changes, but unfortunately, the new owners (same people who own Bread Chic) don't do anything gluten-free except a cheesecake. Don't get me wrong - the cheesecake is delicious - but there is only so much cheesecake I can eat. Genoa used to have gluten free bagels, sandwiches, salads, baked goods etc. and they have almost nothing now. Sad."
"The coffee shop itself is really nice with super cute décor, which makes it a cozy spot to sit and enjoy a drink. They offer a large variety of pastries, cakes, and even quiche, which is a nice touch compared to other cafés. I tried the pumpkin latte and it was creamy and flavorful, while the matcha latte was smooth and well-balanced. My only disappointment was that I specifically placed my order for “here” but was still served everything in to-go containers. On top of that, while the barista wasn’t rude or mean, he really didn’t show any customer service skills, which made the overall experience feel a little flat. Hopefully, these small things can be improved, because otherwise it’s a charming spot with great drinks and a tempting pastry selection."
