from Google & Yelp"This cozy coffee shop is right off Hwy 9 in Alma and we have been hearing great things about it so we stopped in to check it out. I ordered a hot vanilla latte with regular milk and my husband ordered drip coffee - both drinks were wonderfully hot and tasty! My latte was superb! This shop also offers specialty chocolates and some local pressed juices - I’ll give those a try next time. No food is offered at this time. It was nice to meet the owner Mike (he is also the barista) and we wish him the very best on his business!! We will be back!"
"My family and I stumbled across this gem of a coffee shop while staying up the street in Alma. Upon walking inside, we were warmly greeted by the owner Mike. He was so welcoming and knowledgeable about his craft. He made high quality coffee accessible and approachable by explaining his process and answering all of our questions about the menu items & ingredients. We tried several different drinks from the menu and all of them were 10/10. The interior of the shop itself was clean, quaint, and cozy. Mike also made sure to speak on other small businesses that he supports and shared local recommendations to us. The combination of great coffee, warm hospitality, good conversation, and cozy atmosphere makes The Black Kettle Coffee Shop a must-visit on your next pass through Alma!"
"Incredible local coffee shop in Alma! Stopped here after a long hike with some friends and was thoroughly impressed. The owner was friendly, measured everything out to crafted perfection, and the product was perfect. Definitely will make it a point to stop here again when I’m in the area."
"The best coffee shop around! Probably the best in this great state of Colorado! Mike’s keen attention to detail with how real lattes and flat whites should be made is amazing! My husband is an Aussie and they’re very particular with their coffees, this place does it just right! Skip the rest of the coffee shops on your way up to Breck, and just stop by here. You won’t regret it!"
"Ordered a latte with half flavor and the barista accidentally added the normal amount. Not a huge deal, and most baristas wouldn't even admit it to the customer at a busy time. Instead here's what he did to make it up to me. He acknowledged his error and offered to re-make the drink and I politely declined as there was a line of customers and it wasn't a big deal to me. He insisted several more times, and I politely declined as many times as he was only the one barista with waiting customers. I appreciated his sincerity and went across the street to buy bread at Bristlecone bakery. Later, I found out he REFUNDED the charge! Quite an amazing gesture! And the drink was delicious and hot! I will be back next time I'm passing through town. Thank you!"
